Cooking is how we keep the story

I am Abeer. I cook the food I grew up with in Gaza, and I write it down so it does not get lost: the maqluba flipped at the table, the kaak baked for Eid, the shawarma we queued for on Thursday nights.

Every recipe here is cooked in a home kitchen, weighed in grams and cups, and tested until it works without a chef standing next to you.
